Our IV drips therapy is deliver by registered nurse Karen Lyons on the Central Coast, both at local clinics and through our mobile service. Enjoy the convenience of receiving your IV drip therapy in the comfort of your own home, or even in your office.
WHAT DO OUR IV DRIPS CONTAIN?
Our IVs include:
- Saline: This mix of water and salt is the base fluid for your IV, and is also often referred to as a saline solution.
- Vitamins: Vitamins are organic compounds the people need to remain healthy. They are naturally occurring and are contained in all people in varying amounts*
- Electrolytes: Electrolytes have natural positive or negative electrical charges when dissolved in water. This process assists the body with controlling chemical reactions that occur within it. It also ensures the balance between fluids both inside and outside your cells remains in equilibrium.
*The exact vitamins contained in a solution depend on the drip you’ve chosen.
The IV drip process
- Before the procedure, meet with Karen, our qualified registered nurse and nutritionist, for a free consultation. She’ll sit your down and make sure you’re relaxed and comfortable.
- Finding a vein where the cannula will be inserted is how the IV process begins. This may be in the forearm, wrist, back of the hand, or foot. The chosen area is sanitised with a wipe before inserting a fine needle attached to the cannula.
- Tubing will be connected to the now secured cannula. This tubing is then connected to the IV.
- During your infusion, Karen will regularly check the cannula to ensure that the IV is flowing properly and there is no pain or swelling in the area.
- Once your infusion is complete, you’ll be disconnected from the IV drip and pressure will be applied to the small insertion wound to stop any minor bleeding that can occur. This will then have a dressing applied.
